Executive Director of Sustainability at Marina Bay Sands
As Executive Director of Sustainability at Marina Bay Sands, Kevin Teng oversees the integrated resort’s property-wide sustainability efforts.
In his current role, Kevin drives the entire property’s green initiatives, and spearheads all energy, water, waste, green meetings, F&B, sustainable procurement and staff engagement projects across the integrated resort. Kevin also leads property styling and is responsible for establishing a consistent design narrative for physical elements of the integrated resort, such as floral, event set-ups, uniforms, decorations, and F&B frontage.
Kevin has been Marina Bay Sands’ Executive Director of Sustainability since September 2014, stepping into the role after leading the integrated resort’s sustainability efforts from January 2012. He was previously the integrated resort’s Chief Engineer since its April 2010 opening. More recently in 2018-2020, Kevin led the Development, Programme Management and Design (DPMD) team in the development and execution of capital improvement and expansion projects to propel Marina Bay Sands into the next stage of growth.
Kevin’s career at Las Vegas Sands began with him completing the Sands Leadership Development Programme in 2008. He then joined the LVS Corporate Development team, where he co-directed the global Sands ECO360 programme and The Las Vegas Venetian Hotel’s energy efficiency initiatives that earned LEED-EB Gold Certification. He subsequently relocated to Singapore, taking up the role of Chief Engineer at Marina Bay Sands in 2010.
He also has extensive experience as an urban planner and sustainability expert across China, Southeast Asia and the Middle East where he worked for four years with AECOM.
Kevin has a Master’s of Science in Urban Planning from the London School of Economics, and Bachelor’s degrees in Electrical Engineering and International Studies from Duke University. In addition, he is a published writer for the Urban Land Institute and a USGBC LEED Accredited Professional.
He currently resides in Singapore with his wife and three children.
